Welcome to “TheJPD.com” website of the Editorial Council of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Incorporated. The Editorial Council was created in 1950 as a non-profit corporation. The governing body for the Corporation was designated as the Editorial Council consisting of Officers and Directors from the founding organization. The Editorial Council was given the responsibilities: 1) to publish a journal as an outlet for evidence-based information, and 2) to provide opportunities for the exchange of ideas and the advancement of knowledge in prosthetic and restorative dentistry through other media and resources.
In response to the first responsibility, the Editorial Council introduced The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in March of 1951. Publication of the Journal has continued to the present date as a monthly issue featuring basic and applied research, clinical studies, and prosthetic and restorative treatment therapies of patients. Overviews of the literature dealing with topics of interest in restorative and prosthetic dentistry, and articles describing new dental materials and innovative approaches in clinical and laboratory technology. The Journal serves general dentists, Prosthodontists, and other dental specialists, because of it’s diversity in featuring timely, original articles on implants, ceramics, composites, crown and bridge rehabilitations, maxillofacial prosthetics, and removable prosthodontics.
This website, TheJPD.com, was created by the Editorial Council in response to the second responsibility to exchange information within and between Sponsoring Organizations of the Journal and to provide information to the public about prosthetic and restorative dentistry. Selecting a Sponsoring Organization from those listed will take you their individual home page within this website or through Internet links.
